Twizel To Timaru Classic

We as a club are encouraging all club members and none members to participate in this years great race. Early morning start from Twizel, brisk ride along state highway 8 through Pukaki taking in that awesome site of Mt Cook in its full glory, through Tekapo streets lined with fans cheering and waving, heading east through Kimball onto Fairlie more fans and great crowds, then the familiar home run down from Cave through Pleasant Point and onto the finish Line.
We have over 3 months to race day so for all you guys and girls who have thought about doing this event before but thought it may be out of your reach, We encourage you to participate in our weekly bunch rides and increase your fitness. Sunday bunch ride: leaving Bennies Again, Otipua Road 9am usually covering 60-70km with a coffee stop. Sunday rides will slowly increase in distance towards the big day. Wednesday bunch ride starts at 1pm on the corner of Spur Road and Washdyke Flat road, normally heading north with a traditional coffee stop. Wednesday rides will also increase in distance as the Twizel 2 Timaru approaches. Please feel free to talk to any of our committee members or club members if you are thinking about this great race as we will be only to pleased to encourage you to join us on our training rides leading up to the big day.
